The Foundation maintains discretionary funds for community-driven projects that are consistent with the Foundation's mission.

A previous funding initiative of the the Board Discretionary and Special Initiative Fund included the Healthcare Access Initiative.  This initiative supports countywide collaborative partnerships to improve access to providers; increase care utilization; and foster retention of insurance coverage. 

Applicants must demonstrate actions focused to support people who are vulnerable and in need, with the ultimate goal of improving health and quality of life for materially poor persons. 

Applications are typically by invitation only.
