2011 System-wide Award Recipients

The Values in Action Awards are given annually to those who have shown strong commitment in representing each of our four core values.  Read below for the criteria in which each award is given.

  • Listening and seeking to understand and respect all people and their differing viewpoints.
  • Sharing ideas and information in an open, honest and respectful way
  • Creating and sustaining positive working relationships, acknowledge individuals’ contributions and celebrate successes

The VIA Award is given to a recipent recognized for:

  • Displaying courtesy and shapes a service –oriented environment that understands and responds sensitively to unique needs.
  • Maintaining a constructive positive outlook amidst change and uncertainty.
  • Working effectively under pressure and responds quickly with quality service.

  • RespondIng to changing organizational needs by learning new skills and behaviors and by improving performance, processes and service.
  • Encouraging new ideas, seeks to discover and share best practices and creates an environment of continuous learning.
  • Establishing clear goals and plans, takes responsibility for individual and team actions and expects accountability for performance.

The VIA Award is given to a recipent recognized for:

  • Listening and seeking to understand and respect all.
  • Attends to the needs of people who are vulnerable and in need.
  • Demonstrating enthusiasm in calling others to work together to understand and serve the needs of our communities.
  • Contributing to a work environment that supports the integrity of our mission, values and vision with a shared sense of purpose.
